Scope and Contents From the Collection: The collection contains images from the Oregon Journal’s files, which were donated to the Oregon Historical Society over the course of several years. The vast majority are black-and-white production prints. The collection contains photographs of prominent Portland and Oregon figures such as Mark Hatfield, Terry Schrunk, and Wayne Morse. The collection primarily consists of photographs of ships which Willamette Iron and Steel Company either built or worked on from World War II to the 1960s, collected by long-time employee JosephMeyers. Also included are aerial photographs of the company's site, photographs of parts and equipment manufactured by the company, promotional materials, and programs for ship launchings and sea trials.
